Job Title: Skate Hero
Department:
Customer Care
Reports to:
General Manager / Customer Lead

SUMMARY: Greets customers, hands out skates, teaches introductory lessons, gives information and helps maintain a clean, safe environment.  The mission is to give excellent customer service, and a memorable experience when visiting the San Diego Ice Arena. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Greets patrons, issues skates and helps fit rental skates properly
-Keeps all working and traffic areas clean
-Promotes a friendly environment to all people throughout their stay
-Skate guards and leads on ice games
-Provides skaters first aid assistance
-Leads “introduction to skating” lessons
-Answers telephone and delivers basic information about our facility
-Sharpens rental skates
-Hangs and wraps skates up after they are used.
-Joins team for clean up at the end of every public session (Empty wastebaskets, replace liners and transports trash to disposal area. Sweep all areas: lobby, stands, snack bar and porch.  Mop lobby and snack bar).
  

HOURS AND PAY RATE: Part-time max 30 hrs a week.  Average about 10hrs. $8.00/hr

 

Job Title: Birthday Party Hostess
Department:
Customer Care
Reports to:
Operations manager / Customer Lead

SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of birthday parties and personnel. The mission is to give excellent customer service, and a memorable experience when visiting the San Diego Ice Arena. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Inspects party room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and sets up party decorations.
-Greets guests, escorts them to tables.

-Plays games with children in party before serving them their food
-Prepares beverages and expedites their food
-Help skaters with receive and put on rental skates
-Teaches 15 minute introductory lessons
-Skates and plays on-ice games with children in party
-Addresses complaints of customers
-Collects payments
-Responsible for cleanliness in party hall 

HOURS AND PAY RATE: Part-time max 30 hrs a week.  Average about 10hrs. $8.00/hr

 

Job Title: Customer Lead
Department:
Operations
Reports to:
Operations manager
SUMMARY: Customer lead is a position that requires an individual to be a multitasked person. Able to do ice maintenance, run program office, supervise, coordinate activities and workers in the ice arena. The mission is to give excellent customer service, and a memorable experience when visiting the San Diego Ice Arena. 
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for running all public, freestyle and hockey sessions within the shift.
- Must act as a supervisor to all employees on duty within that shift.
- Responsible for cleanliness in building.
- Zamboni ice resurfacing and driver-maintaining the machine.
- Must run reservation and point of sale program (Frontline) when called upon.
- Responsible for providing first aid assistance to customers.
- Must perform opening or closing procedure.
- Sharpens skates.
- Skate guards and coordinates guards.
- Scorekeeps hockey games when called upon.
- Resolves worker’s problems or refers matters to manager.
 

HOURS AND PAY RATE: Part-time max 30 hrs a week.  Average about 20hrs.

MAINTENANCE-MECHANIC SUPERVISOR 

SDIA, Inc. a.k.a. San Diego Ice Arena is looking for a Maintenance-Mechanic Supervisor with the following qualifications: 

JOB TITLE: Maintenance-Mechanic Supervisor
DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED: Supervise and maintain air handling systems, refrigeration and temperature control systems, and other machinery and equipment for ice rink.  Supervise and coordinate the activities of installers and repairers. Compile operational records, such as repair and maintenance statistics, and test results. Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors.  Conduct training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques; operational procedure; and equipment use.  Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, and quantity of equipment.  Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.  Assist installers and repairers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment based on observation of machinery.  Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders in order to construct templates.  Patrol and monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment in order to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures or safety rules.   

REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology. 

Knowledge of AutoCad; Microsoft Server technologies.
